Farhan is the first male ever to be chosen as a Goodwill Ambassador in the organization’s history. 4.Former Indian Police Service Officer K C Reddy was appointed as the member of United Nations probe panel on Gaza. 5 . The Union Government appointed GS Sandhu as Chairman of National Chemical Weapon Convention. 6. Senior IRS officer Anita Kapur was appointed as the new chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. 7. The Italian physicist Fabiola Gianotti was appointed as first woman chief of CERN particle physics research centre. 8. Rajiv Mehrishi took charge as Union Finance Secretary under the Union Ministry of Finance. He succeeded Arvind Mayaram. 9. Former Indian cricket captain Dilip Vengsarkar received the prestigious BCCI-instituted Colonel C K Nayudu Lifetime achievement award. 10.Tamil superstar Rajinikanth was honoured with the centenary award for Indian Film Personality of the year 2014 at the 45th International Film Festival of India. 11. Chintan, a non-government organisation was conferred the Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award, 2014. 12.Steel Authority of India Chairman CS Verma was conferred with the IIM- JRD Tata Award for Excellence in Corporate leadership in Metallurgical Industries for the year 2014. 13.Veteran classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj was conferred with the Sumitra Charat Ram Award 2014 for Lifetime Achievement. 14.Neha Gupta was awarded with the prestigious International Children’s Peace Prize 2014. 15.T
